The South Jersey Shore was once
a hotbed of small glass houses. Clevenger Brother Glass Works opened for business in 1929,
under the direction of the three brothers-Tom, Reno, and Allie. They flourished for many
years making bootleg "antiques". The factory was bought in 1963 by one James
Travis. He had stopped in to buy a mold, and found the widow of the last of the brothers,
who had decided to sell. Travis bought the place with $200.00 down, and has run it ever
since.

For the next thirty years or so, Clevenger Bros. Glass Works turned out beautiful and faithful hand blown reproductions of 19th Century pitchers, flasks, and vases. We handled the line for over ten years and had good success selling to many museums and historical sites, including the Boston Museum of Fine Art and the Corning Glass Museum.

Unfortunately, the factory shut down for good in 1999. These few pieces we have left are the last ever made by this historic factory.
